The Search Wiki will be handy. I DO repeat the same searches. Funny I didn't notice those little gray marks before...

I began making a google site for my cousin's wedding on Colorado. I need a few more lessons on site creation. Trying to add a link was frustrating.

How could I use this? Well... family vacations and reunions and weddings and such things. We have moodle at school, so although I can see the value of a class site I would need to talk to our Director of Computer Ed before I strayed from the path. I could make a website for the parents in the neighborhood where I live. We communicate via e-mail a lot, but a site might be better. But would we maintain?

I also learned about Goog 411. Very very cool. Wow! What next? There is so much!

Thing 28 Custom Home Pages

I like this....like the gadgets....like the glimpse into my gmail...like the way it can give me a glimpse into other interests such as sports and recipes and music. I'll use this for sure. I'll find some gadgets that relate to the library. There will be no stopping me!

Thing 32 Google Maps

The mashups with google maps are very cool. I spent quite a bit if time learning that the mountain chicken frogs in Montserrat are in danger of extinction because of a fungus. A friend of mine is traveling in India - sure hope she doesn't come home with TB! I created a map of our neighborhood. I'm looking forward to sharing it with my kids. I think it will give them a better sense of place. I may also create one for a wedding I will be attending this summer in Colorado. Among the landmarks I will place the wedding site, our camp site, nearby restaurants, tourist attractions, and the like.

Twitter

I set up a Twitter account. I'm following NPR. I'm not sure if I hooked Twitter up to my phone correctly. I can see the value in this for my personal life, especially if more of my tribe join in.

Thing 26 Ning

I just ninged. It was simple. I can see how it could be a valuable mini-facebook. It might work well for online book clubs, in fact, I said I would join one if someone else started it.

Gathering momentum

Life gave me lemons today in the form of a flat bike tire. Could be worse, I know. Now I'm gathering momentum on these THINGS! Wish me luck!
